On 09 May, 2014, “Uluchay” Social-Economic Innovation Center has invited guest speaker Tofiq Sadikhov to talk about the secrets of public speaking to young people of Sheki. The aim of the session was to increase the capacity and practical skills of Sheki youth on public speaking and aspects to be considered within the public speaking.
On March 28, 2014, ‘Uluchay’ Social-Economic Innovation Center in cooperation with Think Tank Fund of Open Society Funds, organized a meeting with 20 farmers from different villages in Sheki.
On 11-15 of March, 2014, “Uluchay” Social-Economic Innovation Center has organized 4-days training program on stereotypes, cross-border cooperation and tolerance building for Georgian and Azerbaijani participants of “Photographers without Borders” project. The training program was consists of training and practical sessions and was provided to 20 participants from border regions of Azerbaijan and Georgia.
On 29-31 January, 2013 “Uluchay” Social-Economic Innovation Center has organized a Communication and Funraising training session for civil society organizations working on public finance issues and also for representatives of education sector in Yevlakh, Azerbaijan.
On 23 January, 2014 “Uluchay” Social-Economic Innovation Center has organized a consultation meeting with entrepreneurs of Sheki district of Azerbaijan. The aim of the consultation was to identify main challenges they are facing in their daily work and add their recommendations and opinions to the Regional Business Environment Report, which is developing by Uluchay.
The aim of the training program was to increase the capacity of selected 10 Azerbaijani NGOs (4 from regions and 6 from Baku) on communication, networking and cooperation with private and governmental sectors.
I knew my skills and professional experience would be beneficial but I wanted service to test my abilities and ingenuity. As a Community Economic Development (CED) Volunteer, I wanted to truly make a difference for the people of Sheki, my host community. My Social Entrepreneurial Program (SEP) project would allow me to do just that.
