Gunay Ismayilova has worked for Chemonics Intl. as an Organizational Development Specialist and Save the Children’s Azerbaijan Country Office in several development programs, such as CLAP (Creating Livelihood for Adulthood Program), SEAB (Special Economic Action for the Blind). Moreover, she earned rich experience in the issues of children with disabilities and their families while she worked for United Aid for Azerbaijan (UAFA). Gunay also worked as a social work consultant at Hilfswerk Austria International, where she provided expert advice for the development of alternative services, such as small group homes, Family Counseling and Training Centers for children at risk and their families. In addition, Gunay taught “Social Work with Refugees and IDPs” and “Social Work with Children and Adolescents” at the Azerbaijan University in Baku.
Gunay has earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the European Studies faculty at the Azerbaijan University of Languages in 2005. In 2012, she received her MS degree from Columbia University School of Social Work, specializing in Advanced Clinical Practice with a focus on Children, Youth and Families. She minored in International Social Welfare.
