On 28 December 2016, “Uluchay” Social-Economic Innovation Center has organized a training for Sheki Penitentiary Service staff on “Management of Prisons – Experience of foreign counties”. The training session has been organized with the initiative of “Uluchay” Social-Economic Inniovation Center within the “Enabling civil society to play a greater role in advancing socio-economic rights of vulnerable populations” project funded by the European Union and supported by the UNDP. The training has been provided by the Chairman of Center for Economic and Social Development – Vugar Bayramov.
The main aim of the training was to provide a detailed information on management of prisons in foreign countries and integrate best and relevant experiences to the work of Sheki Penitentiary Service. During the training session, the trainer has provided the information and presentation on prison management from such countries, like Norway, Germany, USA, Japan, Netherlands and other European countries. The discussion around the experience of each country has been actively discussed among participants and relevant additional information has been provided based on questions of participants.
The Deputy Chief of Sheki Penitentiary Service – Mazam Mustafayev has noted that the training was important for all participants in terms of learning of new opportunities and experiences and can be considered within the future work of the Sheki Penitentiary Service.
