Action to fight discrimination against vulnerable women

“Uluchay” Social-Economic Innovation Center has implemented the Action to fight discrimination against vulnerable women in the North-Western region of Azerbaijan.

The project is supported by the EU and UNDP funded and UNDP implemented “Promoting the role of civil society in gender-sensitive implementation of Sustainable Development Goals” project.

The project’s overall objective is to reduce the discrimination and social exclusion of divorced and widowed women and wives of prisoners (DWWP) in society.

Component 1: The established mechanism that provides better legal and psychological assistance, business education, start-up and employment support to divorced and widowed women and wives of prisoners

Component 2: Improved capacity and skills of local authorities and civil society organizations for better protection of rights of DWWP; and

Component 3: Raised awareness of the public and stakeholders on problems of DWWP in regions and decreased social stigmas on DWWP.

Target regions: Sheki, Gakh, and Zagatala districts of Azerbaijan

Target groups: divorced and widowed women and wives of prisoners
